Crossing my fingers for a new job and a new home

Today i finally decided to take a leave to be interviewed for a possible new job, in an island where i hope to call my new home soon.

i´ve turned down this job interview not once but thrice because i don´t like to compromise my present job and the responsibilities that comes with it. the first text was for an interview at 1pm. i work in a place an hour away from home and i couldn´t possible rush home to change into another outfit and i wouldn´t want to arrive wearing jeans and shirt – clearly a taboo.

the 2nd text came for an interview at 9am, of all days it was the day when our CEO visited our office, now i wouldn´t want to disappoint my boss and our client of not being at their service, so i called again to have it rescheduled.

the 3rd one, i got a call and not merely a text asking if was still interested in the position and why i didn´t show up for the 2 interviews that was scheduled. i told her i did call the office on both occasions to request for a possible rescheduling of my interview. she called again minutes after to ask if i can go to the office that same day. i said i’m sorry i can´t but i would surely go there on Thursday.

with my 2 year old still asleep and her nanny at the backseat, my hubby drove me to Sunny Mactan! along the road my little princess was already awake and was in awe of the sight from the New Bridge. That vision of her brought a smile to my face, maybe it is really a right decision to relocate in this beautiful island.

we arrived at Mepz 30 minutes before the interview– that will surely impress HR.
right on schedule, the interviewer called my name at exactly 9am. we entered the office and she started grilling me..haha.not really, it was a casual interview and i was comfortable talking to her and my answers came from my heart..

i did like the company because it provided jobs to fulltimers, part -timers, working students and the like. after the interview, she thanked me and told me that she hopes that iĺl get the position and that she found me very qualified for the job. hereś hoping that the manager will like my resume and my answers to the interview.

now-now, i am not that familiar taking the public transpo in lapu-lapu. didn´t know where to go next so i asked. i was to take the tricycle to get to the vhire terminal–i almost forgot about the vhire and even asked for directions on where i could find the PUJ terminal going to cebu city. well, the tricycle brought me to the terminal for 8 pesos and i was on board the vhire van bound for Ayala for 30 pesos. not that bad–coz i was planning to take the cab and would have cost me 200 bucks more or less to get to the city.

i arrived in ayala and decided to buy snacks for my daughter and the thought came ..why not visit the office of the developer of our future home? all the while i was thinking it was at the FGU building. so i was at the 5th floor and MSY was not there. i went down again to check the listing, no MSY still and so i called their office- it was at Cebu Holdings Bldg.! oh oh..so i went to ayala again and walked the same path towards their office..when i reached their office, the rep told me that Bougainvillea got SOLD OUT last night. what? yes, Mactan is booming and home of migrants from neighboring islands, so real estate is selling like hotcakes. im still hoping that someone will cancel his or her reservation.

my hubby fetched me and we then proceeded to fetch our daughter from school. we had lunch and ate at my favorite chicken restaurant- Sunburst! on the way to another developerś office, we heard an explosion–it was our car tire! unluckily, we didn´t have a spare tire, so my hubby had to look for a vulcanizing shop to have the tire/s fixed. we are still blessed since we were at the safe side of the road when that happened even if it was a busy lane. Thanks God!

i’m crossing my fingers for a new job, a new position and maybe a new home…
